I would definitely consider taking you up on this offer and I thank you for it, but I am sure I would not be a fit for those places because the only "Country" music I ever did was old songs by the Eagles, Pure Prairie League, Poco, Firefall, Dan Fogelberg, and other similar '70's bands that did music we all thought was cool and didn't even realize that they were actually country music in the guise of "Folk Rock". Listen to Linda Ronstadt's "Heart Like a Wheel" album and tell me that ain't Country Music. I can appreciate mostly all music, but I am just not a country singer and the patrons would most likely throw tomatoes at me.
I can tell you a secret which many people do not know, and I know only because I have traveled around the USA and mingled with the locals.
The thing is that City-people are the ones who like Country music and people that actually live in small country towns will always like the rock and roll or popular music.
It has some thing to do with the human ego, and just because I know it is true does not mean that I can definitively explain the phenomenon.
It is like everyone sees the grass as greener on the other side.
City folk seem to think they are missing out on some romantic notion about the country life style so city people try to be country, and people who do live in the country seem to believe they are excluded from the big city atmosphere and so country people want to be like city people including the popular music.
Of course this thing is not absolute and we have city people who have moved to the country and country people who move to the cities, but the true local population are people born in the city who view the country grass as greener and the true local people born in the country want to embrace the popular city music.
So - the Bars here in little Hollywood will play some country music but the locals really do like the rock and roll of popular (Pop) music.
A favorite song down here is this one = "Put some sugar on me" and I myself see that song as having a fun sound and nice beat but the lyrics are ignorant and stupid and nasty.
A slow dance song here is more like the Eagles' "Desperado".
And BTW, I didn't mean to hijack your thread and make it off topic.
No need to worry about that as no one highjacks a thread of mine unless I let it happen.
I am very capable of directing a thread if I want to do so.
I just myself see this subject as fairly dead.
